Site Supervisor

Duties:

  • Provide leadership and supervision throughout all phases of the project
  • Develop, maintain and execute the construction schedule to ensure full completion of the project prior to the closing date 100% of the time
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, Owner, Consultant, Subcontractors, Inspectors, and other stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and support cost-effective project delivery
  • Schedule, monitor and supervisor all subcontractor work quality and production levels to ensure the highest standards are achieved
  • Calculate, monitor and track all materials required for the project
  • Assess construction discrepancies and brainstorm solutions to maintain a desired finished product
  • Track all extra work and process in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Oversee client requests and inspections to ensure satisfaction and completion in a timely manner
  • Coaching, motivating and developing skills of 5-10 team members on site
  • Resolve day to day field personnel issues
  • Achieve project schedule milestones, corrective action where necessary to meet key milestone dates.
  • Participate in safety training and development initiatives as identified or requested
  • Communicate and administer all Safety policies and conduct site safety meetings
  • Inspecting construction sites for potential hazards throughout duration of project
  • Oversee execution of the work, including quality and production, by ensuring that the crews work to job specifications and follow drawings.
  • Maintain records of project progress and report to Project Manager
  • Ability to work in the city of Winnipeg
  • Travel to surrounding Manitoba areas may be required

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience in a General Manager/Site Supervisor role preferred
  • Skilled in reading and reviewing blueprints/floor plans
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people
  • Post-secondary education (e.g., Construction Technology, Carpentry, Civil Engineering, etc.) preferred but not required
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
